Looks like my computer died overnight, won't start, I'm using the tablet right now and this means I can't do much groupwise. Will be looking for a new computer now and hopefully have one soon. Just what I needed NOT!!
Update Nov 17: I got the new PC today, started installing Windows and during the process, it shut down stating the new HDD may be damaged. So I checked the connections, changed cables and slots and got the same result.
Will call the shop tomorrow morning and most probably have to go to the city again in order to get a replacement HDD. I'm pissed off!!
Update Nov 19: OK, I spend most of my time in the city yesterday to get the darn PC working; in the evening I finally started installing the first stuff like browser and then ran in the problem that I couldn't access the stuff on my former HDD.
So today it's back to zero
and I'm currently in the process of starting all over in the hopes that my installation (vs. the shop's installation) help me in getting access back on my files. I'll lose my bookmarks and passwords and various files on several stuff as the old PC died suddenly and didn't let me backup the work from the last week.
Already having trouble in signing in one of my gmail accounts.
I hate it when PCs stop working without any warning. I hate Microsoft for making it so hard to access system files; this throws me back another two days!!
Update Nov 22: I had hoped that by today I would be back in the game and the pc up and running, but alas - I'm NOT! *LeSigh*
To figure out how to access my old HDD took me one day alone; to configure most programs to my liking
(still in the process); resetting my passwords (as I couldn't get them back)
. Hopefully I'm set by Wednesday/Thursday. Running pretty fast out of patience
Update Nov 28: Yeah, I'm almost done!!!
Almost all programs installed (had to find new ones for some old ones), finally installed the former HDDs into the new computer and they're fine; retrieved most of my passwords due to having an image/screenshot of the login data stored on one drive. So I just need to retrieve a dozen (maybe a bit more). Still need to configure the image editing programs to my liking....and some other stuff, but I'm doing this over the next week while also slowly getting back on track here on dA.
May need to buy new speakers as they don't sound good with the on board soundcard. Unfortunately the new mainboard is very small and while I took the soundcard out of the old computer, it would be right under the graphic card with almost no space between them on the new mainboard.
